On being admitted by ambulance to Wye Valley NHS Trust hospital in the early hours of the Bank Holiday in May ,I was very well treated by all the staff . My initial examination initially pointed to the Urology dept . then to a CT scan ,this on being inspected showed clear in the urology side but showed a potential problem in my left lung.
I was then scanned again with a dye injection.
I then had lung function tests and it was arranged that I saw an Oncologist on the next day. I was fortunate to have the consultant I was assigned to. My wife and I were shown the test results and it was arranged after a further consultation to visit the Nuclear scan unit at Cheltenham for a further scan . As this showed a problem in my left lung, it was arranged for me to have an arthroscopy at Hereford . Following this test it was agreed that I would have a further scan in three months ,to review the situation.
Having been contacted by the consultant and informed that the latest scan shows that all is now clear I feel that it is most important for me to put on record my appreciation for the way in which I was treated in both the
Oncology and the Urology depts
"treatment by staff at all levals"
