"Diregard for basic patient needs and not taking..."

About: Hillingdon Hospital

What could be improved

I had a very bad experience giving birth at this hospital. The prenatal care was ok, depending on the midwife but the wait was always several hours for regular appointments. My baby was overdue and because of risk factors and bad experience I did not want to risk induction and after much discussion a C-section was agreed although more than a week later. When the baby finally presented herself, but before the C-section was due, again with much discussions we agreed to go for an emergency C-section. However, the procedure was delayed by more than 8 hours by which time it was too late for the section. The worse thing is that I had to wait more than 2 hours in the most horrendously painful late stages of labour as apparently there was not anaesthetist available. In all instead of the agreed section I gave birth naturally without anaesthetics until nearly the very end. Not only this was very traumatic but to add insult to injury, the midwife on duty was very unhelpful and even condescending.
