What I liked
Nothing!
What could be improved
Staff need to learn how to listen to the patients! I was in labour with my first child for 29 hours and was denied pain reliefe as I was told I wasn't in labour and that I wouldn't know if I was because I was a first time mum! I wasn't listened to. I wasn't given vital antibiotics that were essential during my labour resulting in my tiny new baby getting very ill and having needles stuck in her every day! My partner was forced to leave the hospital by a midwife who said that I wasn't in labour, only to return half an hour later when i was giving birth!! (so much for not being in labour). Because I had been told that I wasn't in labour it was too late for me to have any pain relief and had to go through childbirth with nothing! The staff have no compassion or respect for the people that they 'care' for what so ever! I found the whole stay there very traumatic and distressing even the nursery nurses were rude and sometimes cruel and would reduce me to tears. I would never go back their and I would certainly never have another child after the trauma that I went through there. I still have flashbacks and nightmares now bringing back the moments the doctors would hurt my baby sticking needles in her because some midwife wouldn't give me antibiotics. I would not suggest this hospital to anyone!
"The experience was traumatic and cruel!"
