I've been asthmatic for over 30 years and to be honest I've been rather dismissive when I've been invited to an asthma review. In fact I've avoided them, thinking there was no point. I had to attend one in order to get some new inhalers and I'm so glad I did. The Nurse is a lovely lady, friendly, helpful, realistic and not at all patronising or critical. She suggested trying a preventer inhaler, her feeling being that my asthma could be managed better tjan it currently was. Within a month I could run 1.5km. I haven't run in 20 years. Running from the corner when a PE bag for school has been forgotten had previously rendered me wheezy and coughing for days. Frankly I feel amazing and because I can now run, I've even lost a bit of weight. I'm very glad I did go to a review. Shame I didn't do it years ago!
