Fortunately, I'm not someone who needs to go to the doctor much but whenever I needed help from this surgery I was always dissatisfied with their service.
The one good thing, to my experience, about this surgery was they made it relatively easy to order repeat prescriptions online. You simply entered your details, stated the meds and amount you wanted and there would be a prescription waiting for you at reception within 72 hours.
They have now replaced this with a far more complicated and inefficient system where you require login details to order repeat prescriptions via the website (and there's no apparent way to even enter these login details on the website). Then you have to telephone the pharmacy three days in advance to let them know you've ordered a prescription and ask them to request a copy from the doctor.
If I - a tech-savvy person in their 30s - find this challenging then older people who are not computer literate will find the new method of ordering meds nigh on impossible. I've now gone private just because it will be quicker and easier than having to jump through the unnecessary hoops this surgery puts in front of patients (this must be than fourth or fifth time I've gone private just to save myself the headache of dealing with them).
As with everything when it comes to this surgery, the focus seems to be on making things easier for the staff - the patients come second.
Very glad to be moving soon so I won't have to deal with them anymore. Hopefully my new doctor will be an improvement (but that wouldn't take much in all honesty).
