I would like to thank the whole team involved in conducting a coronary angiogram yesterday.
I was introduced to everyone involved in the procedure and advised exactly what was to happen, what the Plan B might be and told of the risks involved in the procedure.
The staff in the Lab chatted to me whilst the process was being set up and that helped me to relax somewhat. Boy that lab is cool! During the angio the doctor told me what he was seeing and the treatment that was likley to follow. With the surgical aspect completed one of the nurses explained to all of the patients what to do, once home, should a problem occur. The advice given was clear and unambiguous, backed up by a handout which repeated the instruction. I sustained a bleed from the radial artery and called for assistance and the team rapidly brought the problem under control and, sadly, had to clean up the mess that I had caused. I was impressed by their cool handling of the incident and at no time did I feel in danger.
A truly professional team who conducted their tasks in a positive and friendly manner.
My grateful and sincere thanks to all of you.
