"I am NOT Allowed to book Doctor's appointment..."

I have been told by reception I am NOT allowed to book a Doctor's appointment until I have had a 'Health Check' with the nurse when I registered. 12 days until 'Health Check' appointment then I'm ALLOWED to try book an appointment and wait to see a Doctor... this seem's crazy.

- I have recently moved to Corby - I attended Urgent Care Centre as I have injured my back / leg and was unable to work one day unexpectedly.

I am off work for a few days (unpaid) and was in severe pain and thought best to book an appointment with my new GP surgery .... except I'm not allowed.... I could be waiting weeks... to be even ALLOWED to book an appointment....(I'm not paid each day I am ill - missing treatment or doctor advice risks making me homeless)..... THANKS

You are able to book an appointment with a doctor prior to your new patient medical, so apologies if this information was not clear through your conversations. We encourage patients to have a new patient medical before seeing a GP where possible to ensure that all information we hold is accurate.
