"First baby"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I had my first baby in June of this year and I cannot praise the maternity unit more. I found out at 38 weeks that my baby was breech so had to have an elective c-section and from maternity outpatients to theatre and recovery and the inpatient ward the staff were fantastic. What could have been a hugely anxious and scary time was made calm and controlled and I was put at ease by all staff I came into contact with. It made having my first baby a positive experience.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear First time Mum 062018,

Congratulations mummy.

Yes, it could have been a scary time but I am glad your experience was such a good one. I don't think we ever forget our childbirth experience and it is great to look back with fondness if at all possible.

Thank you for taking time to share this with us on Care Opinion. I hope you are getting enough sleep,

best wishes,

Eunice
