"Kind and careful clinical consultation"

The Western General Hospital in Edinburgh kindly rescheduled my Mum's respiratory clinic out patient appointment so that I (her daughter) and my husband could accompany her.   This was an important appointment setting out the plan for care following a terminal diagnosis.   Dr Fredereike and Clinical Nurse Specialist Julie reviewed my Mum's wellbeing, responded to all her questions and gave thoughtful and kind guidance on how to consider some important decisions about next steps covering clinical issues, care at home and benefits entitlements.   We felt like we had their full respectful attention as they gave us time to take in a great deal of information and ask questions.   Very helpful for my Mum and for us her family to plan for the coming months.
