"Learned to manage pain without painkillers"

About: Biggart Hospital / Physiotherapy

(as the patient),

I was referred to the pain clinic and met Dr.Dick at the Biggart hospital.  She in turn has changed my life for the better by sending me to the pain management programme.  In less than 2 years I am now managing my pain without pain killers for the 1st time in 20 years.  I still experience pain but now I can manage it without the need of strong pain killers like Fentanyl & opiate based drugs.

I cannot thank the team enough, Dr. Dick & Emma have been out standing.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Ayr68,

Thank you so much for taking time to share this, it is amazing. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for those who suffer constant and debilitating pain; I am sure your post will give encouragement to them too. This has been passed to Dr Dick and Emma and I know it has been very well received. Well done to you too, I suspect this will have also been down to some determination and hard work on your behalf.

Keep up the good work,

Best wishes,

Eunice
