"Impressive care from start to finish"

About: Manor Hospital / General surgery

I was admitted into Walsall Manor Hospital in April for emergency surgery (Hartmanns procedure) to remove part of my bowel due to diverticulitis which had formed an abscess on my lower colon. This meant I had a stoma bag until the reverse procedure was successfully performed only 4 months later, the reverse op isn't classed as an emergency but even so still carried out on the day and time that I was told it would.

I have to say that the care throughout was impressive, from the ward nurses (20B) stoma nurses, doctors, surgeons and consultants.

In all I had two major 4 hour operations, CT scans, X-Ray's, an endoscopy, 3 weeks in total in hospital and was treated with respect, dignity and care throughout.

I consider myself very fortunate to have been under the care of WMH.
