"Thank you"

About: Conquest Hospital / Maternity

I would like to thank the Doctor and the anaesthetist who helped me to deliver my baby boy "Jack" on the 11-8-2018. After hours of pushing with no success I asked for help, the Doctor responded quickly and took immediate action to help me. Jacks head was not in the correct position and required a forceps delivery. She did an incredible job and I can't thank her enough for delivering my baby safely.

The anesthetist was my hero for taking away my pain quickly using a spinal injection. He acted quickly and helped me to to stay calm. The Matron also helped me to keep calm.

I would really like to send thank you cards to these amazing people. Please let me know if this is possible and if so, I would like the name of the Matron.

Thank you again

Dear Lou,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such lovely feedback about your recent experience of care on the Maternity Unit at Conquest Hospital, which is all the more appreciated given you no doubt have your hands full with Jack! Please also accept our belated congratulations on Jack’s arrival, and our sincere good wishes for his future growth, development and happiness – we hope he brings much joy and happiness (and new adventures!) to you and your family. The Trust works hard to provide a high standard of care for all patients, underpinned by core values of kindness, compassion, dignity and respect, and we are therefore delighted to read this has been your experience.

We are also pleased to read that you found staff to be prompt and professional in their care of you, and that these behaviours gave you trust and confidence in their ability to help you calmly and safely deliver Jack; we will ensure your feedback is shared with staff, as they will be thrilled to read your comments and how much you valued their care. We are always appreciative of patient gratitude, and you are very welcome to send cards of thanks to the Maternity Unit (Melanie Southwood was the Matron on duty when you attended hospital). Alternatively, you can pass your thanks to the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01424 758090 or by email at esh-tr.pals@nhs.net and they will pass on your thanks.

We wish you, Jack and all of your family the very best for happy, healthy future.
