"Day Procedure Unit"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital / Plastic surgery

I visited last week to have a breast reconstruction procedure, to be carried out under general anaesthetic. Everyone I came into contact with on the day, from the receptionists on the front desk, the nurses on the ward, to everyone in the anaesthetic room, treated me with respect and dignity, and were friendly and reassuring, so I knew exactly what would be happening to me before and after the operation. After I came out of surgery and woke up back on the ward, the nurse brought me coffee and biscuits and told me to rest for as long as I needed before going home so I didn't feel at all like I was being rushed. When I felt I was ready to go home, she took time to explain my aftercare and discharge form, and she walked me out to reception where my husband was waiting for me. She was so lovely to me I felt like giving her a big hug! I will have no hesitation in recommending this hospital to anyone who asks about my experience.
