"Distraught"

About: 3/Springfield House Medical Practice

I have attended this surgery from the day I was born and rarely need an appointment but when myself or one of my 3 children do it takes over 50+ attempts to even get through!

The reason for this review is I have recently visited the surgery with my 7 month old baby girl TWICE in 2 days who has been suffering with a severely bad cough & high temperature & has been very crackly & wheezy.

Both times i was told her chest was completely clear & it is viral which means it will clear by itself.

Late last night I was on the phone to 111 NHS Helpline as my baby girl had seriously deteriorated she was struggling to breathe & her temp had gone to 40! I have spent the night in the hospital whilst she has bloods done & chest X-rays to be told she is breathing at 70 beats per minute, has Broncholitus & a chest infection!!!!! How was this not noticed by the doctor who had "checked" my girl that same day & a stand in doctor the day before that! Im heartbroken i no longer trust this surgery its not the first time this has happened with mt children & I am will be changing my surgery ASAP!

Im appaulled & seriously hurt having to see my baby girl like that when it could of been caught alot sooner.

Dear Ms Mills

I have read your comments regarding your child and her sudden deterioration which was upsetting to learn. We would of course have gladly discussed this with you directly had you contacted us.

I did try to look into your daughters medical records to bring to the attention of our GP's in an effort to try to establish a history prior to your little girl being hospitalised. However I am unable to find your registration and wonder if you have changed your surname recently? As a consequence I am unable to look into any of the issues you have raised on the website, but if you would like to contact me separately, please feel free to do so.
