I was sent to A&E by my GP who was concerned by my temperature & heartbeat after presenting with a sustained and worsening chest infection. I was so impressed with how quickly, kindly, and effectively I was dealt with by all medical staff at each stage. I was taken seriously, the investigations and tests were comprehensive and quickly taken, and I was kept informed in an effective and kind fashion throughout and effectively treated for the diagnosed pneumonia and great care was taken to establish if I was safe to be discharged.
The follow up appointment in the Ambulatory Care department a few days later was also extremely efficient, effective and friendly, and the once again excellent nurse & doctor, having assessed that I was clearly much better and safe to discharge, allowed me to leave for work and phoned me as promised with the results of tests and consequent advice.
I understand how busy and overworked all of these people are and have so much respect for them for providing such a great service in a sympathetic manor despite the pressures. I wanted to say thank you.
"Excellent experience all round in A&E and..."
