"Offensive nurse at mammogram outbuilding"

About: Finchley Memorial Hospital

I had my first mammogram at Finchley Memorial Hospital Mobile unit. I brought my 9 and 10 year old children as it is the summer holidays. They are well behaved. As soon as I walked into the mobile unit I was met with a frosty face from the nurse. I said nicely, is it ok to leave my kids here pointing to the seating area. Straight away she sternly said NO, NO you can't, we can't look after your children. I was astounded by her rudeness. I was shocked I said really? can't they just sit there, she said NO USUALLY PEOPLE REBOOK AND COME BACK WITHOUT THEIR CHILDREN - and stared at me unapologetically. I was so shocked by her rudeness and I said they can sit quietly and play with my phone. They sat quietly down horrified by her! I was ten mins and they sat in silence. She was the most horrible nurse I have ever met in my life and was so unfriendly and rude I was shocked. I cannot believe someone with her dreadful interpersonal skills can work with people especially women who are going into a potentially stressful situation. Awful,

Hello

Thank you for leaving a review, I am sorry for the care you describe, it is not what we aspire to deliver.

I hope your children are ok as it can be frightening for children a in hospital at the best of times.

I want to take this forward but struggle on the information you have provided, can you email me at richardchester@nhs.net with greater detail of the nurse and I will look into it further.

Kind Regards

Richard
