"Eye Operation"

About: Southampton General Hospital / Ophthalmology

I was referred by my optician for due to a sight issue which she though was due to the Cornea.

In the end the consultant diagnosed a lens problem and scheduled me for a replacement lens.

I put the operation off for 18 months as

I was worried, however on the day of the operation the staff were excellent and the operation was carried out with full success. Surgeon and his Theater team were excellent and very reassuring for me as I have a fear of hospitals and medical procedures.

After care was very good with clear instructions and told not to hesitate to call if any issues.

Have had follow up appointment and all OK, will have the other eye.

Only concern is there are not enough consulting rooms in the Day Care operating clinic and people were having Blood Pressure and pre med questions in the middle of the waiting area.

Great news, it is so good to hear that you have now had your surgery and that you were put at ease prior to the procedure.

I have shared your comments with the service so that they can review the area you have mentioned.

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your comments.

Kind regards
