"Treatment in ED"

About: Croydon University Hospital / Accident and emergency

Overall treatment was good but I was not informed about what blood tests were being taken.

The nurse tried to put a cannula in the bend of my left arm. She didn't tell me she was going to put the cannula in and failed to find a vein. Samples were using veins in hand. I got the impression that from the rest of my stay that some nurses have problems putting in cannulas.

I am so sorry to learn of your experience in ED. I have passed your comments to the senior staff responsible for the department so that they are aware of your concerns, although I have been unable, from the information provided, to identify who was responsible for your care and treatment.

We value all feedback and the concern you raised will be shared with all staff.

Regards

Hilary Frayne
