"Visit to endoscopy department"

About: Victoria Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

Everything explained thouroughly and with confidence,  made to feel at ease.

During test for colonoscopy, wet wipes to cool your face down would have been much appreciated as would little sips of cold water  to moisten lips. Nurse was very comforting and doctor chatty and professional.

Many thanks to all involved.

Dear Scotgolfer

Thank you so much for your response on Care Opinion.

It was nice to read that the procedure was explained thoroughly and you were made to feel at ease during your test.

It is unfortunate that the nurse did not notice you would benefit from a cold cloth as I am sure she would have been more than happy to oblige.

The reason we do not offer sips of water in the procedure room is that patients would have difficulty swallowing especially if they had sedation.

I will be sure to pass on your comments to all the team involved.

Kind Regards

Shona
