"The staff were very welcoming and reassuring"

About: Victoria Hospital / Day Intervention Unit Victoria Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

I was really anxious about the whole procedure having had both Endoscopy and Colonoscopy 30 years ago and was traumatised then.  This experience was much, much better.  The staff were very welcoming and reassuring, and my decision to take the sedation paid off.  The last thing I remembered until coming round was biting down on a blue circular thing to begin the endoscope. The Nurses Vivienne and Jessica understood my panic when I arrived in the room and assured me they would look after me, and I'm very grateful.  Dr. Sengupta was also reassuring and got on with the procedure in a confident and relaxed manner which helped me a lot.

Dear Jalt

Thank you for your lovely comments on Care Opinion following your recent procedure at the Victoria.

It is so nice to read that you felt welcomed and reassured every step of the way. I will be sure to pass on your kind comments to Dr Sengupta, Vivienne and Jessica, who will be delighted to receive them.

I hope that you are now fully on the mend.

Kind regards

Shona
