"Wonderful but it could have been better with more..."

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

What I liked

I attended daycare for an knee arthroscopy at noon on Dec 3. The nursing staff were under pressure and, from what I have been told, short-numbered. In spite of the intense pressure they were under and the huge degree of concentration they were subjected to the two nurses were wonderful. They kept up a cheery outlook, were helpful and attentive and I thought they were fantastic.

I doubt whether many people would have been able to maintain 100% accuracy in those circumstances and, if any monor discrepancies occurred, they will be the fault of those allocating manpower and not of those lovely nurses.

I personally believe that the number of staff should have been twice that of the number on duty and, if hospital staff believe they can get away with running a department with so few staff and not experience errors, they are very much mistaken.

My heart went out to those brilliant, dedicated and caring nurses.

What could be improved

The nurses were wonderful

Thank you for taking time to provide us with this valuable feedback. It’s reassuring that you were left with such a positive impression of the nursing staff at Frimley Park. However we note your comments that you felt there should have been more of them on duty at the time. While we are confident that our staff levels are correct overall, we will highlight your concerns to the manager of this particular shift.

Meanwhile we will pass on your positive comments to staff on the unit, as they will really appreciate your kind words.
