Had a set appointment with one of the consultants and on attending the clinic I was first seen by a specialist nurse who immediately assessed that I would benefit from attending A&E for emergency treatment as my breathing was very erratic. I was taken directly to A&E by two very attentive nurses and received immediate treatment by the caring and excellent staff working in the A&E department. Following a period of assessment I was transferred eventually to ward E54 where I was then attended to by the most caring ward staff you could wish for. Despite the ward being full and there being some very poorly patients stationed there the nurses and doctors were excellent. I have been attending the respiratory department for over 4 years and each and every member of staff I have come across has been a credit to their profession, if your going to suffer respiratory problems then be poorly in Sunderland as you could not get better treatment anywhere else in the country! special thank you to the consultant who has been looking after my case all this time the people of Sunderland are lucky to have you.
"Excellent service and outstanding caring attitude"
