Recently my mother has been treated for Wet Eye Macular degeneration and within 48 hours of being seen in her opticians she was being treated within Optegra on a direct referral.

This service can't be faulted. From the receptionist who greeted us to the nurse who cracked a little joke to put my mum at ease, mum's nerves eased slightly and then the ophthalmologist was so caring and informative in a way could be understood from all levels.

I was allowed to accompany my mum while diagnostics were carried out and I was also allowed to ask some questions.

Mum was treat quickly, safely and with dignity and respect.

More people should know about these services instead of having to wait on NHS Hospital waiting lists.
