I attended the walk in centre on 13th August 2018 for an allergic reaction, painful and swollen rash particularly on my feet to the point I was hobbling! This is an on and off problem for last few weeks but this was the worst. I waited for 1 and a half hours to be seen by a nurse practitioner who didn’t ask me any questions at all, just listening to the info I gave and said there was nothing she could do for me and I need to see my GP tomorrow and see a specialist (which will obviously take months) she said there was nothing she could give or suggest in the meantime to ease the intense pain and swelling. I was crying as I was so desperate for it to stop and she completely ignored this and waited for me to leave. It was an awful experience. I ended up at A&E later that night to be given some strong medication to bring down the swelling. I would never go to this walk in centre again and am utterly amazed that a nurse could have so little professionalism and empathy. I work for the nhs myself so I know pressures but I would never treat anyone that way.
"Waste of time and very upsetting"
