"Not enough doctors"

About: Murdishaw

I've been at this practice for 10 years and if you phone up for an appointment it has to be on the day you want your appointment and you need to ring at 8am.

You invariably have to queue and by the time you get through sometimes the appointments are already taken.

There are only 4 doctors for a large catchment area so it's hardly surprising.

On the plus side the doctors are all lovely and good doctors and the reception staff are pleasant and helpful.

The premises are nice with adequate parking and public transport is nearby as is the pharmacy for prescriptions

It is purely the lack of doctors that lets it down.

I am sorry you are not happy with our new system.

To confirm you do not need to ring at 8am, but anytime in the morning is helpful, the Care Navigator takes as much information as they can to help to offer you the best service for your needs.

If you wish to see a particular doctor who is not in on the day you ring it you can either speak to someone else or ring back, however all the clinicians can deal with your concerns.

The clinicians can often deal with your concerns over the telephone and if not can bring you to an appropriate appointment time to suit you both.

This saves you visiting the practice when there is often not a need to do so.
