Admitted for minor Op yesterday and quickly appeared nothing was too much trouble by the cheerful friendly staff. All was explained well, and continually throughout the day. Our surgeon visited and re-explained proceedings, our anaesthetist equally reassuring. The manager to directed us to our room, who decided the first room was not to standard so moved us to another) was friendly and efficient. Special mention of one particular nurse who did an amazing job of reassuring and keeping me as relaxed as possible whilst taking me to theatre and stayed with me through the initial process - she has a great skill). Our main nurse was fabulous.
My only slight uncomfortable moment was one professional who popped in but acerbically suggested we were late on arrival. We weren’t - we were bang on time but were sat in reception for 20 mins . This was a disappointing comment as it was the one blight on an otherwise reassuring day - and therefore prevented us from warming to her and therefore somewhat detracted from the advice she was endeavouring to give.
Prior to op - all was really good on initial visits and consultations- only thing I think could be better was MRI in car park from which I struggled with knee pain to get back to my car, alone, in tears, and no staff in sight to help. I think someone could have escorted me.
Otherwise highly recommended and thank you.
