What I liked

I was treated with caring proffessionalism and at all times felt safe and comfortable. The staff explained every procedure they did and could not have been more efficient. The a&e area was spotless and outshon some private hospitals that I have been in.

Anything else?

I got the feeling that the staff were not happy with the night time closure of the hospital, and felt let down that they would not be considered 'on par' with Pinderfields; where I was transfered to.

We appreciate these very positive comments regarding the care received at Pontefract.

As the Trust has explained, the current shortage of medical staff has left us with no alternative but to temporarily close the ED depatment at Pontefract at night for reasons of clinical safety.

The situation is being kept under constant review and the service will be reinstated as soon as it is safe to do so.
