Usually when you visit the doctors, you should have confidence in the doctor you are visiting and have a trust in them. However, recently the new system of speaking to the doctor on the phone before you are allowed an appointment or not (they like to speak to you on the phone first and if they think they need to see you, they will) has come into place. Whilst this whole new system is understandable, sometimes you cannot diagnosis someone on the phone without seeing them. I understand they don’t want to have masses of appointments but if you really feel unwell and you can’t see the doctor, you have a lack of confidence in them. Additionally, I went into the surgery recently about something that was worrying me, and I had someone ask the doctor on behalf of me and the doctor didn’t even come out to see me to talk to me about it, even though it would’ve taken a matter of seconds, and the doctor even came out of the room a few seconds later to do something else whilst I was still there. I therefore thought I would’ve been able to talk to the doctor for a minute?
I have also had issues with doctors interrupting me whilst I have been in an appointment as they have been in a rush for the next patient and I don’t feel I have fully been able to say what I want to say. Whilst the doctors are efficient with talking over the phone and coming back to you quickly, I have definitely lost my confidence in them.
