My lucky star looking after me. A simple scan highlighted an aneurism of the aorta & next day in St Peters for an operation a week later. My luck continued as i came under the care of a surgeon & his team & after several discussions of exactly what proceedure to follow .I elected to have the least invasive Keyhole/ Stent which was carried out with no pain & minimal discomfort.I choose this method as at 83 yrs i wanted the quickest recovery back to the tennis courts & cycling which i enjoy very much.I was back playing in 10 days & could have been quicker but we were in the middle of that very hot weather & my partners didn't recomend it.!!
I have already seen the surgeon for my follow up & will be back again in Dec.I have to say first class care by the surgeon & the NHS despite the negative comments in the press which are not the fault of the staff.
So if you are to have a little surprise like i had be lucky & you will be on his team which I thorourly recommend.
