"No more genuine welcome than at the Eye Hospital"

About: Falkirk Community Hospital / Opthalmology

(as the patient),

If there is a more genuine welcome on this earth I think it must be at the gateway to Heaven.

From arriving late by ambulance the nurse announced my name, warmly smiled, said 'Hello again' and took me through for my first eye test. She then led me through to Jennifer who remembered well my very first visit on an urgent call on a Saturday some months ago to the operating room. Everyone is so pleasant and smiling. They gave me advice on replacing a lost pair of prescription glasses. They administered antibiotics, so efficiently did their job, the whole Department is a credit to the NHS.

My son lives in south England and is envious of the care given to his dad. I'm very lucky but so is the NHS having staff like I experienced today.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. I am delighted to hear that you had such a positive experience with us and that you received such a warm welcome. First impressions are so important to us as a team and I am proud as a manager of the department to know that the ophthalmology team show such care and compassion in everything they do. I will share your words with the team and thank you once again for taking the time to post this message.
