"Trying to book an appointment"

The system of online booking or calling the practice at 8 am is very frustrating (especially if you need to go to work at that time).

Whenever I try to do online booking there are very few appointments available and rarely with the doctor I usually see. The appointments are then all allocated quickly and you have to try again the next day - its a lottery.

Its a terrible waste of time.

I tried 5 times recently to book online with a doctor who wanted my son to see him one month later.

I tried calling but all of his appointments were booked (even though I called at 8 am).

I much prefer the old system of simply calling and getting an appointment even if its a few weeks later.

Thank you for contacting me directly to discuss the concerns you had regarding booking an appointment for your son which highlighted an issue regarding doctor’s leave and communicating this effectively to patients. Following your feedback the practice is updating our website to clarify circumstances enabling patients to manage their healthcare and appointment bookings, which I hope leads to an improved patient experience using online services.
