"Excellent maternity care"

I gave birth to my son at the start of July and wanted to feedback about the excellent care I received throughout my pregnancy, labour and postnatally. 

I was cared for through my pregnancy, labour and postnatally by Iona in Arbroath. We couldn't have asked for better support, guidance and care from Iona. Iona's calm and reassuring manner was exactly what my partner and I needed. We were both delighted when Iona was available to care for us during labour. Having the same midwife throughout our care was very important to me and my husband, we felt nothing was too much trouble and it enabled us to build a relationship with Iona. 

I also received a lovely aromatherapy massage from Lorna in Arbroath when I went over my due date. Lorna was fantastic and very informative. The massage was very relaxing and I feel very fortunate that such a service was available to me. 

Whilst I ended up being transferred to Ninewells towards the end of my labour I felt I was kept well informed and calm due to the support from the midwives in Arbroath and this was all arranged in a timely manner. 

The care we received when I arrived in Ninewells remained excellent. I was met by Dr Lynch and Midwife Sarah who again were fantastic, keeping me well informed and calm throughout the birth of my son. When we were transferred to the postnatal Ward we were again met by friendly and supportive staff. 

Despite some changes to our birth plan we always felt safe and supported and are truly happy with the care and experience we received. 

We experienced some challenges with breastfeeding following discharge and again cannot thank Carol and Marianne from the infant feeding team enough for their invaluable support, advice and encouragement to help us continue with our breastfeeding journey. 

All the staff we encountered in Arbroath and Ninewells from domestic staff, health care support workers, midwives and medical staff provided my family and I with excellent care and support, we cannot thank them all enough.
