"Appointment"

About: The Springhead Medical Centre

Having tried uncessefully for two weeks to get an appointment, I finally got through on Friday to be told there wasn't any appointments, really there's a surprise! I have been in agony with sciatica and tried for two weeks to aliviate the symptoms myself, no joy, I explained to the lady on the phone how much pain I was in, but best they could do was an appointment in two weeks, no offer of even getting the Dr to call me with any advice it is something I suffer from since the birth of my child, it's all there on the computer as I've been treated before with this.. In the end I was crying to the lady as I knew I would not be able to manage the pain, nothing, in the end I went too storey Street walk in, and I wished I'd done this two weeks ago, I was seen in 10 mins and the Dr was amazing, spent at least 20 mins with me, and now for the first time in two weeks I'm pain free, shame on you springhead, when did you loose your caring side, I get how busy you are but a little compassion goes a long way, and to not offer any of other solution is bad practice, I see from other reviews that you don't like criticism but maybe you should take note, and learn from these that all people want is some reassurance, to be listend to, that if like me you very rarely go to the gp and only ring up if there's a problem surely you should be able to get an appointment

Thank you for leaving us feedback and sorry that you have not had a good experience.

The reason why we encourage people to complain to us rather than leave anonymous comments on here is so we can investigate what happened, find out what went wrong and hopefully put it right so it does not happen again.

In your case we would want to discuss with the Receptionist how she handled your call and what she could have done differently instead of leaving you feeling that you had no alternative but to go to the Walk In Centre.

If you would like to discuss what happened, please contact the surgery and ask to speak to a Patient Services Manager.

Alternatively you can complain formally by putting it in writing to : The Practice Manager, Springhead Medical Centre, 376 Willerby Road, Hull, HU5 5JT

Alternatively you can complain to NHS England in the following ways :

Ring on: 0300 311 22 33

or write to :

NHS England

PO Box 16738

Redditch

B97 9PT

If you prefer you can complain by email to : england.contactus@nhs.net

Please write "For the attention of the Complaints Manager" in the subject line

Once again - sorry you had a bad experience
