"don't use this hospital for paediatric..."

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

had appointment in April for a paediatric treatment on spine by the consultant. the appointment was around 3:45 pm and we didn't get seen until around 4:40pm. When everyone went home, we were the only ones left and it was only then the clinic sister told us that the receptionist had not booked us into the clinic and told them we were here so we got a DNA (did not attend) mark on the record.

then we finally got seen and the consultant said he would do a MRI and x-ray - no problems there. However, he wanted to see us again and said we'd get a letter in the post. finally got a letter in July saying the appointment was on the 9th October. come august time got another letter saying they had to cancel the appointment because there would be no consultant to see us!

we have been waiting nearly 6 months for the follow up appointment.

UNACCEPTABLE!!

Good afternoon,

I am sorry to read of your experience here at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. It is not the service we hope to provide and I am sorry that you had not been booked in by the receptionist that led to a delay in the clinic.

If you would like the further appointment issues investigating please do not hesitate to contact:

Kindest Regards
