"Brilliant birth experience"

About: Southmead Hospital / Maternity care

I was due to be induced on the labour ward however I shortly started to experience contractions (I was already 3-4cm dilated). The midwife gave me some paracetamol. Soon after my waters had broken. Within the next 30 minutes I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy. I was in the birthing suite on the Mendip wing which was absolutely lovely. I was allowed to stay there for the night and discharged the next day.

My labour and birth was straight forward even though my son was back to back. The midwife and staff were brilliant and done a wonderful job. I would recommended to have a baby here. Also as you're at a hospital if anything does go not quite to plan your are only a corridor away from a consultant.

Thanks southmead midwifes for a fantastic experience! 😊 You all do a wonderful job....

Thank you for your feedback from your experience of giving birth to your baby son.

A huge congratulations to you and your family on the safe arrival of your baby.

Your kind comments have been shared with the teams concerned and I know that they are very grateful to you for finding the time to post your comments, especially at what must be a really busy time, having a new baby to look after, so thank you from all concerned.

With kind regards, Sue Needs, Deputy Advice & Complaints Team Manager.
