So no one likes staying in hospital and it was my first stay in hospital so I was very apprehensive. Now I must say majority of the members of staff that looked after me were fantastic. The ladies on Ward 37, the nurses and staff on Ward 36, the people who did my operation last night (09.08) and the nurses that looked after me straight after my op, where I was particularly needy whilst coming round. Among many others. Now, I know you won’t publish this now as I’m about to identify a nurse, but I would like to make sure that she knows how amazing she is. She was on Ward 36 looking after me in Room 3. I was so worried but she couldn’t do enough for me. Constantly checking on me and making sure I was okay, ordering me food when I was allowed to eat but dinner had already been. Everything. I’m sure a lot of people get used to seeing people in pain and become slightly unsympathetic but the nurse was fantastic. She was offering things to me before I even realised it was exactly what I needed and couldn’t have gone out of her way more to help. I am a young girl so it was quite daunting finding out I needed my appendix out. I didn’t know what to expect but everyone made me feel so relaxed and I just wanted to say a huge thank you.
No, I’m not saying that my experience was perfect, there was a lot of waiting around, Mix ups with what scans had been done and needed doing, but that is no ones fault in particular. These things happen. And most members of staff really made me feel safe and like I could relax, so for that I want to say thank you.
"Fantastic"
