As a patient of this surgery for the last 15 years, and have suffered at the hands of numerous GP's a failure to deal with my hypertension.
Including being treated for Angina over a period of years, a condition I don't have, referral for multiple test all with the same result.
Which were ignored or the practitioner incapable of understanding...
However after 3 appointments with a particular doctor my blood pressure is normal.. The secret is that he listens, explains the medicine options, takes care to find the patients view of their medicine history, and involves his patient in finding a start point from which they can both progress to successful treatment.
It is my opinion that this doctor's methods need to be adopted by GP's in general, and particularly by GP's who have problems with treating their patients as valuable human beings, and not as just a problem to be solve as fast as possible
My star rating for involvement in decisions is based on my experience with GP treatment, although my experience with this doctor is completely new and would exceed 5 stars
