"Letters and telephone appointments"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Pain Management

(as the patient),

I've recently been to see the consultant in Pain Management and also been into Day Patients for treatment.   Twice during this process I had a telephone appointment but the letter telling me I had a telephone appointment didn't arrive until after the appointment date!   Luckily I was available to take the calls but others might not be.   This seems a waste of time and money to use the postal service, why not use email or text both of which are quicker and only use post in exceptional circumstances.
