"Thankyou in difficult circumstances."

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

August 3rd We took our mother to an appointment for her cataracts, it was so hot and there was little room for her in a wheelchair but the staff were so good and cheerful and helpful. One nurse was exceptional and made our visit so much more comfortable as our mother was 101 years old the next day, and all this whilst the computers were down. Thank you so much for what was a busy and difficult time for the staff.

Dear Magpye,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such lovely feedback regarding the care and treatment provided to your mother and family when she attended for cataract surgery on 3 August 2018; it is very much appreciated. The Trust strives to provide high standards of care for all patients (even when our computers fail us!), and we are delighted to read that your mother and her family felt particularly well looked after, despite the heat and problems with computers. It is also assuring to read that your experience was enhanced by the kindness of staff on duty, and their willingness to go the extra mile to make your mother comfortable. We will ensure your feedback is shared with staff so that they know despite the challenges they faced on the day of your mother’s surgery, the care they provided was appreciated.

We very much hope that your mother is not only recovering well from her surgery, but that she had a lovely time celebrating her landmark birthday surrounded by loved ones.
