"Why take on more patients"

About: Conisbrough Group Practice

Why take on more patients when you're always full some people can't travel

There should be someone to see drop in patients who need help not say to go A&E

Put more help on reception not just the new girl

There should be someone available to look at wounds or change a dressing at all times

to help stop serious infection it only takes minutes

Instead of hours of anxiety travelling and waiting in A&E

The new receptionist on duty that day was correct in directing you to the local A&E for a change of dressing.

It would be impractical and not cost effective to have a qualified nurse on standby in the event of a patient attending for a dressing change, which could happen just once a week. We have 3 local A&E departments, Mexborough 3.5miles away, Doncaster 7.5miles and Rotherham 8.3miles.

The practice nurses employed at the practice look after patients attending with chronic diseases, asthma, diabetes, coronary heart disease etc. and work extremely hard to keep these patients well and out of hospital.

We had treatment room nurses on site but this service was pulled by Doncaster Clinical Commissioning Group last year and not replaced.

We accept new patients because we have no choice, it is very difficult for GP's to close their list, but we have increased staff to help us deal with over 400 patients that have registered with the practice this year.

We were pleased to receive a 92% patient satisfaction survey result this year, which is well about the national average.
