"Why cant I book an appointment?"

I have attempted to book an appointment with your clinic for over a month. Noone picks up to the one number that you supply.

For somebody that works full-time 7:30 am until 6 pm, your booking service is beyond inconvenient.

I can never get through to anyone! Your whole system is flawed and quite frankly ridiculous. You are my closet clinic, and for something as important as sexual health, especially for the younger generation, I would like to think this is important to you.

Please provide an alternative bookings line or anything other than one number that is clearly not effective.

Hello,

Thank you for your posting and I am sorry that you have experienced problems when contacting this service. I have been in touch with our Information Systems Manager within the Garden Clinic.

Unfortunately, we have only one line into the clinic for patients to book appointments.

We have walk in clinics every day and it would be best if you came in to see someone at Upton Hospital.

We are trying a slot system for our walk in patients, in an effort to cut down waiting times, so you can be given a timed slot and you should not have to wait too long to be seen on the day that you come in. We are also in the process of setting up an 0300 number which we hope will improve our phone access.

Our walk in clinics run every day

Monday 12pm to 2.30pm

Tuesday 08:30am to 4pm

Wednesday 08:30am to 11.30am

Thursday 08:30am to 11:30am

Friday 08:30am to 3.30pm

I hope that this addresses your concerns. Please contact me, in confidence, should you wish to discuss this further. Alternatively, you could contact your local Healthwatch organisation for assistance. Healthwatch is the name of the independent ‘consumer champion for health and social care’ launched by the Government in April 2013. There are 152 local Healthwatch organisations across England, set up in each local authority area. Healthwatch is designed to give the public more say over services and to help prevent a repeat of past failings . Contact details can be found on our website; www.berkshirehealthcare.nhs.uk

Yours Sincerely,
