"Retinal Detachment"

About: Cheltenham General Hospital / Ophthalmology

In 2008 I received treatment for a Detached Retina and was treated at Cheltenham Hospital.

I was pleased with the result.

In July this year for the same in my other eye, only this time it was much worse.

I was however pleased to be referred to Cheltenham.

I arrived at 5.10pm which was too late for the Opthalmology,

I had been advised to go to A & E if this happened which I did.

The staff at A & E where extremely helpful and I was soon seen by the triage team, and as a result an member of the Opthalmology was called out and attended in about 20 minutes.

He arranged for treatment the next day.

Again staff were helpful and informative and within one hour of attending I was operated on.

Since then I have been told that the operation was successful and I can say my vision is as good as before the detachment a remarkable result and beyond my expectations.

This due to the professionalism of Cheltenham Hospital Staff.

The Hospital was clean and help was always on hand.

Parking was easy and not to expensive.

Follow up visits were quick and efficient and again informative.

Thank you Cheltenam.
