I had a scheduled out-patient appointment at the Liverpool Women's Hospital Colposcopy clinic. I waited for an hour and 30 minutes before being called in to be examined. I queried the reason for the delay with the Reception staff whilst waiting and they were unable to advise the reason for, or how much longer I would have to wait. For what was a 10-15 minute appointment, a wait of over an hour is disproportionate, surely unnecessary and avoidable. If other patients require treatment and therefore a longer appointment allocated time, then provisions should be made to accommodate this. I, like many others, will have rearranged our working day around these appointments, taking them during lunch breaks for example.
"Ninety minute wait for a ten minute appointment"
