After years of worsening pain, I was referred to rheumatology. The first Doctor I was saw was lovely, and said there was widespread inflammation in almost all the tendons in my body. I was sent for X- rays, and was told I would have to have scans of my tendons to see what was going on. Bloods were also taken. I had unusual skin rashes as well, and was told I would be referred to Dermatology. I got a follow up appointment, and saw a Consultant, who said that I had osteo-arthritis, and that because I had been previously diagnosed with fibromyalgia, to go away and get on with it. This does not explain the tendon problems, I have had achilles tendinopathy for around 6 years now, and it's not going away. I also have nodules on tendons, but because bloods were negative, I was dismissed. Dermatology said that some people have sero-negative conditions, and this may be the case with me.
I have now developed Sjogrens symptoms, and cataracts, and have been referred back to rheumatology, but after my previous experience, am not looking forward to it. I know there is a lot more than Osteo-arthriris going on, I know my own body. I have a 3-4 hour round trip to dept and was in there around 5 minutes before feeling like I was fobbed off.
