I returned back from holiday (6 hour flight) and became increasingly short of breath.
I went to see my GP who prescribed me antibiotics. The following day (a Saturday) I woke up to find that my left leg was very swollen and painful. My wife was aware of the DVT service in Hull and I contacted them for advice.
I spoke to Adam King, who was extremely helpful and advised that I attended the Westbourne centre to see him to straight away, so he could assess me further. On arrival, he was waiting for me and explained fully what he wanted to do. He took my history, did an examination and treated me with Fragmin (all within an hour!).
He arranged a follow up for me, and advised where to access further treatment if needed over the weekend. I felt fully informed throughout the process and he alleviated my anxieties about DVT's. I have accessed healthcare services in the past and can honestly say this has been the most positive experience I have had.
