My 11-year-old daughter had a 6-hour plus wait last night (6th August) for treatment for deep laceration on her foot, 22 stitches.
Staff deeply over stretched and looked completely exhausted. We were humbled by their efforts to secure a good service despite being obviously clinically overwhelmed. My daughter received exceptional care at 4.00 am in the morning by staff who were beyond tired but still striving to help in the best way they knew how. Bournemouth Hospital Trust you have an ethical responsibility to your A/E team to honour their dedication and skill by increasing your nighttime commissioning of staff on nights like last night. They were obviously unable to provide the service they wanted to and as clinical practitioners that must be so demoralizing and de-valuing.
