I was recently referred to Frimley Urology Dept. following a suspicious PSA test.

MEN - get yourself tested - it is simple, painless and may just save your life.

Anyway, within days I had an MRI scan which pretty much confirmed the presence of prostate cancer. Saw the consultant and soon after underwent a biopsy - absolutely painless, followed very quickly by another scan at Guildford to further investigate potential problems, which proved to be groundless.

I have seen the consultant again and will very shortly begin treatment consisting of hormone therapy and radiotherapy.

I have every confidence with regard to the future and the excellent care that I shall no doubt receive at Frimley Park.

All of this has happened in just 5 weeks, and almost every day I have felt that someone was doing something from which I would benefit long term. ALL of the staff I have been in contact with have been excellent. Very professional, informative, sympathetic, and just bloody good at their chosen profession. They are a great team, very well trained and equipped with wonderful facilities. I would like to name names but apparently am not allowed to in this type of review. But you know who you are, and you should be really proud as individuals and as part of the urology team.
