"My husband's emergency admittance"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service University Hospital Monklands / Emergency Department University Hospital Monklands / General Medicine (Wards 2,10,12 and 17)

(as a relative),

My husband suddenly took unwell & had to be taken by Ambulance to A&E at  Monklands hospital, Airdrie.  From the moment I had to telephone the emergency services until he was allowed home, the care, attention, consideration and expertise were absolutely first class!  Not only was his welfare and condition treated, we were asked if they could help us in any way too.  Nothing was a problem at all to them.  The doctor in A&E Sean, Jordan, Ashley and all the nursing staff there made us feel reassured.  The Consultant we spoke to initially sat with me and my family and explained to us exactly what she thought was happening and answered our questions in the most sensitive way.

When he was admitted to Ward 2, I can only describe the treatment he had as awesome.  I cannot  praise the staff highly enough. Consultant Chapman, the doctors, nurses, and auxiliaries on her ward were so attentive, we were completely assured that he was in the very best place.

We would like to give a massive thanks to all involved in his recovery.  We will be forever grateful.

Dear vulpeculaxd86,

Thank you very much for taking the time share your feedback on CareOpinion. I am sorry to hear that your husband took unwell and it sounds like it was a very distressing time for both of you. I do hope that he is on the road to a full recovery.

I am so glad to hear that all the staff involved have left such a positive impression. I am sure that all involved would be really happy to hear your comments. If you would like me to try and find the staff from the ambulance service that were involved in your husbands treatment I would be more than happy to do so. In order to do this I would require the date time and location that the ambulance attended and your husbands name. You can email me at scotamb.feedback@nhs.net and just make it for my attention quoting your CareOpinion name and I will pass on your lovely words.

I wish you and your husband all the very best.

Kind Regards

Alan
