"Appointment "missed" for new medication"

About: Southmead Hospital / Endocrinology

(as the patient),

I saw an Endocrinologist in March this year at Southmead Hospital who gave me the go ahead to start treatment with a medication that the NHS does not prescribe (I sourced this elsewhere), she advised she would be able to monitor the medication, advise me, and order the blood tests I needed.

As a result I started medication after seeing her, expecting to see her soon for advice.

I have waited to see her again, it is August, and no booking has been made to my knowledge. Now I have a letter stating that I have missed an appointment, yet I haven't been told about the appointment, and I did not get a letter or phone call.

I have called up to ask about the appointment I was never told about, and when I can see her. I've been told that I was removed from the service as a result of "missing the appointment" and now will not be offered another appointment until December.

As a result I will effectively have been taking an incredibly significant medication from April this year (now Aug) until December completely in the dark with no advice, GP's are not trained on this medication as it is not a medication prescribed by the NHS, I have no help with this. It had taken me 3 months to fully change over from my old medication to my new medication, it would take me possibly even longer to change back, I'm in limbo with it and have no help.
