"Needs standards improving and better patient..."

About: Peterborough City Hospital / Accident and emergency

I have always been impressed with this hospital when going for appointments, the neuro, eye clinic and gynae have been great with some really nice consultants that are willing to listen and help. My daughter was admitted to A&E last week and we came in by ambulance. The ambulance staff were fantastic but were met by a very rude staff member on A&E who he had to deal with. The care received was poor and we were nearly sent home till I complained. Instead they kept her in and if they had not we would of been in an even worse state now than we are because they did find something that needed treating. Now I realise why so many ill people are coming in time and time again before being admitted to a ward because there is something that needs dealing with and they need to be in hospital. Why does it take a patient to become much worse in the meantime before they do anything?? Don't get me wrong there are some very nice doctors/consultants /nurses etc but what does disturb me there are some very rude ones with no bedside manner etc and I saw some patients being treated unfairly and not being given adequate care. I saw this first hand as I stayed on the ward with my daughter and witnessed it first hand. This upset me as I am a very caring person and the care my daughter received just wasn't good enough. There were other patients complaining about there care also on some wards it was dirty. I have been put off this hospital!!
